Echidna Word Search Game

The Echidna's scientific name is Tachyglossus, which means fast tongue. The echidna is also sometimes know as the spiny anteater. The echidna is a monotreme. This is a special group of mammal family that lays eggs.

The Echidna and the Platypus are the only two remaining living examples of monotremes.

Echidnas have sharp spines over there back, a slender snout and long sticky tongue.

Ehcidnas are found in Australia and Papua New Guinea. The female echidna is only pregnant for three weeks and lays one egg into a pouch formed by the muscles in her stomach. The baby echidna when it is ready to hatch bites its way out of the shell using a special egg-tooth.
