The arrival of the Europeans, Spain’s ceding of Florida to the United States and the American Civil War are some of the highlights of the history of the state. It was on March 3, 1845 that Florida was officially considered as state of the US. For kids, the best part about visiting Florida is going to Disney World, a 27,000-acre theme park.
